About Us

A very warm Welcome to Lilliput WI

We meet on the 2nd Tuesday of the month (except August) from 2-4 pm at Holy Angels Church Hall, Lilliput Road, Lilliput Poole BH14 8JX

We belong to the Dorset Federation and came into being in 1969. It is run by a committee of 10/12 members who meet on the 1st Tuesday in the month to deal with local and national directives and to plan members meetings.

This committee is comprised of the Officers namely, - The President (who is elected annually), Secretary and Treasurer. Other members take responsibility for planning the year’s programme of speakers; outings and events to places of interest or shows, meeting and greeting members, visitors, and speakers; welfare issues.

The annual subscription is due in April; it includes 11 meetings, a monthly Dorset Newsletter online or hard copy and WI Life a delivered National Magazine

Dorset Federation hold an Annual Meeting each Autumn at the Lighthouse in Poole.

There is an Annual National Meeting which can be held anywhere in the Country.

The Monthly Meetings

Consists of business matters, Social Time over a cuppa followed by a speaker. or entertainment at these meeting there is the opportunity to participate in a raffle.

Regular Activities

Crafty Afternoon; - meet on the 1st Wednesday of the month at Canford Cliffs Library, Western Road where over a cuppa we knit, crochet; sew or just natter.

IT Group; hold 6 meeting a year on the 3rd Tuesday of the month at 1400 at the East Dorset Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club, Salterns Road. We have fun supporting each other and have regular inputs from an IT Expert

Book Club; meet on the 3rd Thursday of the month at 10.30 at Churchill Lodge, Sandbanks Road- when a range of literature is discussed.

Walking Group;- meet on the 4 Thursday of the month at 10.00. We participate in walk suited to all levels of ability and enjoy being out in the fresh air in the company of our friends. A coffee stop is always included!
